Farr Rising Chardonnay
Wine
By Farr Farr Rising Chardonnay is the distinct label of Nick Farr, son of winery founder Gary Farr. The grapes grow in soils of low fertility and a large proportion of grey loam.
The handpicked fruit is whole bunch pressed to French oak barrels. All the solids are collected and chilled, then put to barrel. Temperature controlled natural fermentation takes place.
The ferment is stirred to trigger malolactic fermentation. After 12 months ageing in barrel, the wine is racked, fined and lightly filtered prior to bottling.
Pale straw, By Farr Farr Rising Chardonnay has great drive and racy acidity, fine mineral elements and lasting length. Cellaring potential is seven years.
